13 Dec 2024 - Specialized after -school service

Also during the year 2024, As well as in the previous two-year period 2022-2023, the TFORMA Social Cooperative has organized and managed social-welfare and educational services for individuals and the community.
The primary objective of our Cooperative has always been to pursue the general interest of the community in the human promotion and social integration of citizens.
Among the activities carried out, free of charge, there are those for recovery and scholastic improvement for minors of school age and the creation of recreational-laboratory and play activities for minors of pre-school age.
It was our responsibility to organize courses, lessons, in order to increase the level of performance, of disadvantaged people, unemployed and/or disabled people of working age who are essential for their entry into the world of work.

Some of these disadvantaged people, following the courses carried out, the Tforma Cooperative employed them.
As in past years, we addressed first, our attention to children who have difficulties in school and at home, i BES.
In agreement with teachers and school directors of various institutes in the Gela area, There have been reports of children with low academic performance, due precisely to family distress (BES).
It was our care to organize free courses with the aim of preventing school leaving, the prevention of bullying and the contrast of educational poverty. We tried to make the environment in which the children would spend part of their afternoon day as welcoming and safe as possible, in fact we have dedicated an entire area to children, with benches, seats, school supplies and colorful walls. The project of SPECIALIZED AFTER SCHOOL COURSE guarantees a free after-school service, from Monday to Thursday, for children aged 6 to 10 years, and a workshop activity service for the little ones aged between 3 and 5 years.
The purpose of the free after-school activity for SEN students attending primary school is to guarantee specific support, with the aim of better developing the potential of children also in their studies.
The children we followed during this project had strong reading difficulties, in the calculations, in handwriting or spelling. The aim of the specialized after-school program was to convey to children a study method that took into account their specific needs also through the use of various compensatory tools, also technological. The aim of this project is not to ensure that the participating children finish all the assigned tasks but that, through a personalized path, children learn to study, they train their self-esteem and learn a study method built on solid foundations that will accompany them throughout their lives.
Our teaching staff who accompanied the children in this project periodically met with the teachers and managers of the school they belonged to, as well as with the family, so that each of the reference figures does their part to offer young students all the necessary support.
