The DigCompEdu, around you, it is based on DigComp, the reference of digital skills for citizens. Educators are role models for the next generation. It is therefore vital for them to also be prepared with the digital competence that all citizens need to be able to actively participate in digital society. DigComp specifies these skills. However, educators are not just role models. They are first and foremost the facilitators of learning, that is, they are teachers. As professionals dedicated to teaching, in addition to general digital skills for life and work, they need specific educational digital skills to be effectively skilled in using technologies for teaching. The objective of the DigCompEdu framework is to identify and describe these specific educational digital skills.
